This Isabel Marant dress describes my style in may ways, at least I'm making that claim. Short, long sleeved, high neck patterned frock is the perfect dress. This is likely because I'm 5'2 and a half, I have to mention the 1/2 because seriously I have to prove I'm taller than most of the girls in my family (7 girls out of 30 something cousins..yes I said 30 something).

Now just to get my hands on this beautiful piece of work... my birthday is in two months #justsayin.

a beauty find

I don’t claim to be a fashion expert and definitely not a beauty guru but, I know what I like when I find it and I didn’t just find something new, I love! The brand Youngblood has made its appearance in conversations I’ve had but all I saw was the price and ‘another’ product in a very saturated market. My fear tends to be, if you got something that’s working, why mess with it. But I messed, and I’m glad!  

During my recent travels I came across a Youngblood booth and after having a not-so-pressured discussion with a make-up artist/sales rep, I was sold. I bought the Mineral Radiance Moisture Tint.

Here’s why:

1. Regular liquid foundation makes me want to scratch my face off. Too literal? Well it does. This formula is not only light in weight, you can barely feel it on!
2. I’m not about to walk into a photo shoot so let’s be real, I need moderate coverage and this tinted moisturizer does just that.
3. Mineral products are just better. And good for you.
4. I never use to be  a huge fan of my face glowing as the matte look has pretty been my look like forever. So a dewy result was definitely a change, but its subtle enough that I kind of liked the glow (not the pregnant kind, seriously people).

It makes me laugh that as soon as my eyes caught this instagram I instantly had a need to seed out my thoughts. Are April fool pranks expanding their noon o’clock expiry on the first of the month this year? 

Are we really at the point of laziness that we can't even pick up a $4.99 nail polish and do up our own toe nails that a luxury brand such as Celine thought why not ‘help a sister out’ and add the polish to the shoe? Worst part of Holt Renfrew's attempt to pitch this odd piece of foot wear is using a reason NOT to get a pedicure to buy these shows - who doesn't love a good old fashion nail application from a stranger? I sure as hell do! 

Sorry Celine, this is definitely a fashion don't. Remove the fake nail chips and we have a great shoe, as is, it’s just embarrassing.

seven years better

On February 27, 2006 I met the man I married. A bit cheesy? Sure. But it's definitely something we're both proud of. We work hard at our relationship and even though there can be hard times, the good times are worth every day. And now we have two anniversaries to celebrate!

Around 3:00 pm yesterday I received a special deliver. My favourite flowers, heart balloons and a teddy bear (he went a little crazy on this one). Then I got a surprise visit when I was off work from my one and only and off to dinner we went. We ate at YEW Restaurant in the Four Seasons and although the lobster was a nice change up from our average weekday meal, the dessert was where it was at! Red velvet cake filled with chocolate mousse, vanilla ice cream, fresh raspberries and chocolate drizzle. All I can say is I love this man for a reason.

meet reese, she was hangin out in my office during her mom's lunch. i'm not going to lie, i almost took her home!

finally starting to do some interior decorating. i have to say i never knew how much work it would be. ideas are endless and pinterest has become both my best friend and nemesis. sometimes too much access to too many ideas isn't a good thing. oh and a large budget would help make this happen even better. just sayin.

another obsession is new baby L. i feel lucky because i get to spend most sundays with this gorgeous princess but i can never seem to get enough!

now some would say watching their new husband play with a newborn would possibly encourage your own family. this is partly true. let's just say we have some time.

this has to be one of my favourite pictures right now. my grandma (aka nani) with my baby L is just priceless.
